12 November Pop-Up Drive Through Recycling Day returns to Brimbank

Do you have unwanted items that are too big or too good to throw out?

Clean out your home, load up the car or trailer and take unwanted items to the ‘Pop-Up Drive Through and Recycling Day’ at Victoria University in St Albans, on Saturday 30 November from 8am-1pm.

Brimbank residents can safely and conveniently drop-off their unwanted household items, for reuse or recycling at the ‘Pop-Up Drive Through Recycling Day’ – all at no charge.

, said the Council’s first-ever recycling pop-up event in March was a huge success. Hundreds of people took advantage of the chance to declutter their home and dispose of unwanted items responsibly and stopped them going to landfill.

‘It’s easy and no charge for residents to participate in the Pop-Up event. You don’t even need to get out of the car. On the day, simply load up the car or trailer and arrive at the location, we’ll take care of the rest.

‘We are partnering with local charity organisations, including the West Welcome Wagon and Bikes 4 Life, to donate and reuse unwanted household items, including mattresses, whitegoods, electronic items and bicycles.

‘So pack up your car or trailer and let’s get recycling, and help the environment,’ Cr Papafotiou said.

Residents can drop-off TVs, computers, electronic appliances, whitegoods, furniture (in good condition), mattresses, bicycles (in good condition), homewares, clothes and linen. Residents cannot bring asbestos, construction waste, chemicals, biological waste, sharps, broken monitors, fluorescent tubes and smoke detectors.

There is a maximum of 8 items per household. Only cars, small vans or cars with trailers will be able to drop-off items, no trucks or commercial quantities allowed. A drivers’ licence or rates notice will be required on the day as proof of residency.
