We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected and empowered.
Yarra is joining many communities around the globe to mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence to help prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls.
The global campaign led by UN Women runs annually from 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
This year we are hosting free community events to increase awareness and education as well as start conversations to help change the culture that enables gendered violence.

Many members of the LGBTIQA+ community have lost partners and loved ones to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. HIV stigma and discrimination affect the emotional well-being and mental health of people living with HIV. It’s important for the community to remember where we’ve come from and continue to advocate for the safety of the community.
