Winners of the 2022 Eastside Business Awards have been announced with 11 local businesses recognised for excellence and James Thredgold Jeweller inducted into the esteemed Hall of Fame.
The winners received their awards at St Peters Banquet Hall last night. The event was attended by Small Business Minister Andrea Michaels, Mayor Robert Bria and Elected Members as well as the business owners and their family and friends.
Mayor Robert Bria said the Awards reinforced that the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has some of the most highly regarded, resilient and creative businesses in SA.
“This year we also had a record number of votes from the public – about 4000 more than in 2020 – across 11 categories,” he said.
“This demonstrates the local community, and visitors to the City, are continuing to support local businesses, particularly as they faced ongoing struggles due to Covid and restrictions over the past two years.
“One of the stalwarts of the City’s business community is James Thredgold who received the prestigious Hall of Fame Award. The highly regarded jeweller has been operating on The Parade for more than 20 years.
“On behalf of the Council, I extend my gratitude and appreciation for all of the businesses – the finalists and the winners – who have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the social and economic fabric of our City.
“To be an Eastside Business Award winner or finalist, shows that a business has had an exceptional impact not only on an individual, but also the wider community, and that is something to be immensely proud of.
“Importantly, previous winners have enjoyed the exposure that comes with the Eastside Business Awards and it gives the Council a great opportunity to further strengthen relationships with local traders.”
“This year’s variety of finalists and winners – from Mary MacKillop Museum, to Little Bang Brewery and Exurbia (fashion retailer) and Adelaide Supplements – highlights the diversity of our economic community and why NPSP is such a popular place to shop, dine, grab a coffee or beer or enjoy a cultural experience.”
