Wyndham City is delighted to announce Michelle Ripari as the 2022 Wyndham Art Prize People’s Choice winner.
Ms Ripari’s winning entry titled ‘Solitary’ won the coveted Prize. Her artwork medium was coloured pencils on paper and the artwork is 1300 x 1000mm.
Wyndham City’s Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said: “The People’s Choice winner is the final prize announced as part of the 2022 Wyndham Art Prize.”

“Ms Ripari’s work, ‘Solitary’, is a self-portrait. The artist says my path is a solitary one. No other person can ever truly walk alongside me. The artwork conveys a depth of feeling that is confronting and intriguing.”
Ms Ripari has loved working with coloured pencils since 2014, participating in numerous selected and group exhibitions, including the Napier Waller Art Prize finalist, Wyndham Art Prize five-time finalist and awarded Highly Commended at the prestigious Camberwell Art Prize.
This year’s Wyndham Art Prize attracted more than 560 artwork entries from more than 360 artists.
A huge variety of mediums were entered including painting, drawing, printing, photography, sculpture and video. Video works continue to grow in popularity.
