Bayside Councillors and staff had the opportunity to attend the Waste 2024, a 3-day waste management conference earlier this month.
This is the leading conference for the waste management industry in Australia and the theme of this year’s conference was Innovate, Motivate, Educate.
Bayside staff presented and showcased some of Bayside’s cutting-edge approaches, including data-driven waste management and resource recovery systems, alongside a sustainable fashion program targeted at youth.
The conference attracted more than 700 delegates who learnt about new initiatives in sustainable waste management through numerous informative presentations and workshops.
Many of these innovative strategies and have already been incorporated into Council’s new Sustainable Waste Management Strategy currently on public exhibition.
