2025 NT Sports Awards nominations now open
5 November 2024
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Northern Territory Sports Awards.
The annual awards recognise the achievements of Territory athletes, coaches, sporting officials and volunteers throughout 2024.
Minister for People, Sport and Culture Jinson Charls highlighted the importance of recognising people in the sporting community.
“The NT Sports Awards not only celebrate the outstanding talent and commitment within our sports community but also serve to inspire the next generation of Territory athletes,” said Mr Charls.
While past award winners include Olympians, Commonwealth games champions and those who have excelled at the highest level in national and international competitions, the awards also celebrate those who make their contribution off the field.
“Sport is an important part of our great Territory lifestyle, playing a critical role in keeping Territorians connected,” said Mr Charls.
“It unites us through shared experience and creates strong communities, and that’s why it’s important to also recognise the accomplishments and hard work of Territorians off the field who coach, volunteer, officiate and support our clubs and organisations.”
Nominations are now open in the following categories:
• Sportsperson of the year
• Junior sportsperson of the year
• Masters sportsperson of the year
• Team of the year
• Coach of the year
• Official of the year
• Volunteer of the year
• Local performance of the year
