There will be 300,000 extra reasons for the community to support Darwin businesses from tomorrow when the myDarwin city-wide discount scheme goes live at 6am.
myDarwin is a new online platform that provides discounts to the community to incentivise spending in support of local businesses.
A funding pool of $300,000 from Council’s parking reserves revenue has been allocated to the myDarwin digital platform.
Customers who register with myDarwin receive $40 worth of discounts each day to steer spending to small and medium retail, hospitality and tourism businesses.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said that more than 200 Darwin businesses have registered to participate in myDarwin as the city rebounds from COVID.
“We know our local businesses support local jobs so it’s more important than ever that we all work together as a city to rise from this challenge.
“We are inspired by our local businesses who have been pushing on and finding ways to adapt with how they do business and the myDarwin initiative will help keep them going strong.”

Discount voucher details for customers are:
- Receive $2.50 discount on minimum spend $10
- Receive $5 discount on minimum spend $20
- Receive $10 discount on minimum spend $40
- Receive $20 discount on minimum spend $80

Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Greg Ireland praised the myDarwin initiative for providing direct benefit for local businesses.
