The Minister for the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, today announced $400 million in grants to deliver frontline Local Area Coordination Services for the NDIS in New South Wales.
The Partners in the Community grants program identifies organisations to deliver Local Area Coordination (LAC) Services to NDIS participants on behalf of the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Minister Robert said the grant round had seen a high quality of applicants with two organisations retaining services, as well as a number of new partners also engaged to begin delivery from 1 July.
‘The PITC grant rounds allow the NDIA to seek out the most suitable organisations to deliver these important services for our participants to ensure they continue to have a positive experience with the Scheme,’ Mr Robert said.
‘The grants also provide a great opportunity for organisations to work with the NDIA and grow their business.
‘The competitive approach to market is designed to make sure participants are receiving the very best services as well as ensuring value for money so the NDIA can continue to deliver more services to more people.’
Current LAC agreements for NSW cease on 30 June. The NDIA undertook a detailed assessment and Expert Panel recommendation process, which included representatives from the NSW Government, and also considered impact of coronavirus on any transition or change to existing Partners during this period.
The new NSW LAC Partners will commence transition activities immediately with full service cut over scheduled for 1 July 2020, with the exception of agreements covering South Western Sydney and Sydney service areas which will commence on 1 October 2020. Early Childhood Early Intervention services will not be impacted by this change.
In regions where there has been a change of Partner, participants will be contacted directly by the NDIA to ensure a smooth transition.
