$45 Million Spring Farm Village Investment Welcomed

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Government has welcomed Kingborough Council’s approval of the $45 million Spring Farm Village shopping centre.

Minister for Business, Industry, and Resources, Eric Abetz, said the significant project will deliver new retail opportunities and services to the growing Kingston community.

“This investment is a fantastic step forward for the local community, responding directly to the increasing population in Kingston and surrounds,” said Minister Abetz.

“The addition of businesses like Coles and Chemist Warehouse will bring both convenience and more jobs for locals.

“This development shows great confidence in Tasmania’s growth and is an excellent example of the private sector playing an essential role in meeting community needs, and it’s also pleasing to note that the developer has already leased 70 per cent of the project.

“An important part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is keeping our economy strong to create the jobs Tasmanians need to ensure that Tasmania remains the best state to live, work and raise a family.

“I look forward to seeing the benefits this project will bring to families and businesses in the region, and as a local member I am particularly pleased to see it progress.”
