With the Albanese Government’s 60-day dispensing policy set to be implemented and take effect on the first day of the Pharmacy Connect conference on Friday 1 September, delegates will not want to miss the heavily featured topic impacting the pharmacy profession.
A panel discussion, titled ‘D-Day for 60-day dispensing’ and ‘Unveiling the mysteries of 60-day dispensing’ are two conference sessions dedicated to the topic, both of which will delve into the impact on community pharmacy, update delegates on the likely patient impacts and explore how pharmacies need to adapt to ensure future viability.
The 60-day dispensing policy will also be covered in the opening session industry update, presented by Guild ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ President, Professor Trent Twomey.
Pharmacy Connect Convenor and former Guild ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ President Mr Kos Sclavos AM, said with the timing of this year’s Pharmacy Connect and the impending changes impacting community pharmacies, the conference cannot be missed.
“As the Albanese Government has pushed through with their 60-day dispensing plan, pharmacies need to consider the broader implications of this program and consider what changes they need to make to their business now.
“The 60-day dispensing panel discussion will cover the key issues pharmacies need to consider in order to mitigate the detrimental impacts of 60-day dispensing.
“The panel will feature pharmacy accountant, business advisor and evaluation expert Trent Ruprecht, pharmacy finance broker Richard Gorman, and Guild ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ President Professor Trent Twomey.
“I encourage all pharmacy owners and managers to be in attendance at this extremely important session on Friday afternoon,” says Mr Sclavos.
The Pharmacy Connect conference is taking place next week from 31 August – 2 September and will be held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney.
With a theme of ‘make every connection matter’, the conference will bring together pharmacists, suppliers and key industry leaders to discuss the 60-day dispensing policy and other key issues impacting community pharmacy both now, and into the future.
