Police have charged four people and seized 70 kilograms of cannabis worth over half a million dollars following a drug trafficking investigation in South Brisbane District.
Operation Whiskey Flaunt, led by detectives from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), focused on a drug network allegedly operating online and via social media.
On August 19, detectives from Acacia Ridge CIB, assisted by Inala Tactical Crime Squad, executed search warrants at two properties in Sunnybank and Sunnybank Hills.
The search warrants resulted in the seizure of 70 kilograms of cannabis, estimated to be worth over $500,000, and 200 grams of mushrooms.
Police will allege a man and a woman arrived while they were conducting the search warrants and were subsequently charged on drug offences.
A 28-year-old Sunnybank Hills man has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 and contravening order about information necessary to access stored electronically.
A 34-year-old Sunnybank Hills woman has been charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3.
Both are expected to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on September 23.
A man and a woman, both aged 28 from Sunnybank, have also been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3.
Both are expected to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on September 24.
