Approximately 900 grams of cannabis was seized during a vehicle stop in the state’s Central West during a three-day road safety enforcement campaign.
About 12.15am Saturday (17 August 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District conducted traffic enforcement duties as part of a state-wide traffic enforcement effort, Operation Chrome, when they stopped a vehicle on the Golden Highway near Dunedoo.
Observations lead to reasonable cause to search the vehicle, during which police allegedly located 918 grams of cannabis in vacuum sealed bags with a street value of approximately $7000.
A quantity of cash was also located.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Coonamble, was arrested and taken to Dunedoo Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug indictable quantity, possess prohibited drug, and deal with property proceeds of crime.
The man was also issued a traffic infringement notice for not displaying P-plates.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Coonabarabran Local Court Friday (20 September 2019).
