Seville sports players and water play park visitors now have dedicated changerooms, showers and toilets for game days and visits to the park.

The new Seville Recreation Reserve changerooms were recently opened by Yarra Ranges Mayor Tony Stevenson and the Seville Township Group.

Cr Stevenson said the new toilet and change facility includes two public unisex ambulant toilets, one public accessible toilet, as well as two changerooms for families and umpires and two unisex changerooms for the netball club..

“We know that this project has been a long time in the making, one that our local netballers in particular have been calling out for, and I’m proud that we’re now at a point where these facilities are finished and open for use,” Cr Stevenson said.

“Our local netballers now have home and away facilities, something they’ve never had – and they’ve had to make do for far too long.”

“We also know that visitation to our water play park from locals and people coming to the region skyrockets in our warmer months, so having these permanent toilet and changerooms will make those visits a lot better in the summer season.”

A concrete paved accessible car parking bay and paths connecting the facility, courts and the water play park, were also constructed as part of the works, along with new fence works on the existing netball court.

Existing crushed rock roadside parking will be converted to asphalt and linemarked in coming months to improve parking for visitors.
