  • A re-elected majority Rockliff Liberal Government will invest $1.9 million to establish a 4km multi-access walking path between Nubeena and White Beach.

Liberal Candidate for Lyons, Jane Howlett, said that delivering important infrastructure to regional communities is a key component under the Liberal’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.

“By connecting Nubeena and White Beach via this accessible, sealed, and modern walking path we are putting in place a number of benefits for these local communites,” Ms Howlett said.

“By improving walkability between these two towns we are giving our young ones a safer option to ride their bikes, walk to school or play with their furry friends.

“This not only increases their opportunities to be active, but it will be a drawcard for tourists who are looking to experience the best of what our beautiful Tasman Peninsula has to offer in a relaxed setting.

“This really is a win-win for the entire Tasman community and under a re-elected majority Rockliff Liberal Government we will continue to deliver infrastructure projects that will improve our regional communities.”

The total estimated cost of the project is $2.4 million, of which Tasman Council will fund $500,000.
