Swan Hill Region Information Centre will now showcase and sell artwork from local Aboriginal people.
Following questions from visitors about buying local Aboriginal art work, Swan Hill Region Information Centre staff and Kenita-Lee McCartney decided to take action, and make the artwork available for sale.
“There are a variety of pieces available for purchase, varying in size and price. Materials include canvas, hardboard or framed prints,” Ms McCartney said.
“Each piece of art tells its own story and we look forward to sharing the stories of our people through our artwork,” she said
Council’s Visitor Services and Bookings Officer Bec Lyons said she was delighted that Swan Hill Region Information Centre would be showcasing the work.
“We have so much talent in our community and the artwork is a great way of showcasing the region’s history, sharing stories and giving the public an opportunity to purchase a beautiful piece of artwork,” Mrs Lyons said.
