The ACT Greens today welcomed a commitment from the ACT Government .
The news follows
“The Federal Government’s decision to exclude nearly 1 million international students and temporary visa holders from the otherwise commendable stimulus package is unjust. Coronavirus does not discriminate – nor should our governments,” Mr Haque said today.
“Members of our Canberra community should also not be denied much-needed support because they lack a particular passport.
“This is an important step in the right direction for the ACT Government. International students and temporary visa holders bring immense socio-economic benefits to our local community and economy, and will no doubt welcome this support at what so far proved to be an exceptionally challenging time.”
