Hollywood and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ and Away actor Bryan Wiseman has been endorsed as the United Australia Party’s candidate for the lower house seat of Cook, currently held by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
United Australia Party Federal Leader Clive Palmer said he was happy the party had endorsed Mr Wiseman unanimously to run against Mr Morrison who had taken the NSW electorate for granted.
“In addition to being a much loved actor, Bryan has outstanding community values and a passion to make Australia great,” Mr Palmer said.
“We are delighted to have him on board with the United Australia Party and look forward to him bringing the sitting member Scott Morrison to account in the upcoming federal election.”
Mr Wiseman made his film debut in the Australian movie Fatty Finn in 1980. Having appeared in numerous commercials and television shows he is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Dr John Wilson in the hit series, ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ and Away.
In addition to his acting career, Mr Wiseman runs a foster home for abandoned and abused animals and belongs to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“For the first time Australia has real choice instead of the duopoly that Liberal and Labor have created by voting together to keep other alternatives out of the Federal parliament,” Mr Palmer said.
“The established parties talk about helping the country but all they’ve ever done is stifle political alternatives.
“Unlike them, the United Australia Party is not comprised of career politicians. We are a party made up of genuine Australians who want to serve the country, to change the course of history and steer in a bright new era for Australia,” he said.
“This is a critical time in our history. Already, a huge number of people have withdrawn support and lost confidence in the Liberal and Labor duopoly that is dragging the country down.
“That number is growing rapidly because the Liberals and Labor continually show how out of touch they are with the people they were elected to represent.”
“Hardworking Australians are looking for an effective alternative and that alternative is the United Australia Party. We will provide the strong leadership, the vision, the policies and the plan to make Australia great again,” Mr Palmer said.
