A mural by local artist Lucinda Penn (aka LCND) celebrating Adelaide becoming a ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City will be unveiled Adelaide Airport this afternoon.
Ms Penn’s mural explores South Australia’s special connection to wildlife and nature and will be displayed prominently at Gate 18.
The artwork is being officially launched at an event at Adelaide Airport today to coincide with the end of ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City Month, where more than 100 events took place to celebrate Adelaide’s status as a ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City.
The campaign showcasing Adelaide’s green credentials was spearheaded by Green Adelaide.
On 10 December last year, Adelaide became the first Australian city to be declared a ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City, and only the second globally after London.
Today’s unveiling is a great way to build awareness about efforts to improve liveability in Adelaide by connecting people with nature through everyday actions.
Lucinda Penn’s Adelaide ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City mural is located at Gate 18 at Adelaide Airport. For more information on Lucinda visit lucindapenn.com

We welcome opportunities to promote the work of local artists, as well as highlighting major South Australian events and achievements, so being able to do both through this mural is an excellent result.
The great thing is our passengers can view this wonderful mural in recognition of Adelaide becoming a ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park City, and at the same time enjoy the sweeping views from our gate lounges out over the green canopy of our city and the Adelaide Hills, which reinforces this achievement.

My piece represents Adelaide in an abstract and colourful way from the hills to the sea, from a vision of platypus in the Torrens, to our iconic hills landscape, as well as parks and wineries and the Mall’s Balls.
I am honoured to be given the opportunity to create the first mural at Adelaide Airport. I hope my work will serve as the ultimate hello for airport arrivals and a fitting farewell for those who are flying out of Adelaide.
