AFL-themed scavenger hunt to help Melbourne bounce back

Footy fans will be exploring Melbourne’s hidden laneways, wandering the Yarra-Birrarung, and searching Bourke St Mall in a quest to win great prizes thanks to The Great Melbourne Footy Grab.

Launched today by the City of Melbourne, the Victorian Government, and the AFL, Melbourne’s most-loved sport will take to our streets as part of a city-wide scavenger hunt to find 50 hidden footys.

With a total prize pool of more than $300,000, more footballs collected means more prizes unlocked.

Anyone who grabs all 50 footys will go into the major draw to win a speccy new Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport Hybrid. Other prizes include Accor memberships and Melbourne Zoo passes, plus tickets to the Toyota AFL Finals Series, Toyota AFL Grand Final and AFL Brownlow Medal.

Instant win prizes can be unlocked by collecting just one footy, including iconic Melbourne experiences, free coffees and more.

The Great Melbourne Footy Grab will run for four weeks from today, until Saturday 2 April.

Participants will need to scan a QR code displayed on every football they find.

The Great Melbourne Footy Grab is being delivered through the joint $100 million Melbourne City Recovery Fund in partnership with the Victorian Government.

“The Great Melbourne Footy Grab gives every Melburnian another reason to come into the city to try and win a prize – even if you’re not a diehard footy fan like me! Most importantly, attracting more people to the city provides a major boost for local businesses that are reopening after the latest lockdown.

“We’re pleased to partner with the Victorian Government and the AFL to bring back the buzz to our city in the lead up to and during the AFLW finals and start of the AFL season.
