A man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery at Bedford Park last night.
It will be alleged at 10.10pm, Tuesday 17 March, a woman and passenger were driving on Flinders Drive when a man jumped out in front of her causing her to stop. The man punched the car windows, the victim quickly drove off stopping down the road. Another driver who witnessed the incident stopped to make sure the victim was ok.
The suspect saw that the two cars had stopped and ran toward the victim standing on the footpath. The suspect jumped into the victims Ford Territory and attempted to start it but couldn’t. He then demanded the witness get out of her car before driving off in her silver Hyundai I30.
The man allegedly did a ‘u-turn’ and deliberately drove towards the three women. The man then sped off. The Silver Hyundai was located a short time later on Port Road Beverley with the keys still in the ignition.
Thankfully the victims were not physically injured but were extremely shaken by the incident.
A 37-year-old has been arrested and is currently being interviewed and is expected to be charged later today.
