Dates and locations have been announced for public consultation on the WorkSafe Commissioner’s Inquiry into safety in the agriculture industry.
WorkSafe Commissioner Darren Kavanagh announced the Inquiry in June following the 12th death in 12 months in the agriculture industry, and appointed an Independent Inquirer, Pam Scott, to undertake the Inquiry.
Ms Scott will visit four regional centres next month and will also hold two metropolitan meetings. An online webinar in November will cater for anyone who cannot make it to a meeting in person.
“The Inquiry will consider a range of issues and recommendations on matters that affect the safety performance of the agriculture industry and have influenced the number of deaths in the industry,” Ms Scott said today.
“I strongly encourage anyone with an interest in farming or the agriculture industry in general to contribute to the Inquiry by either attending a meeting, joining the webinar or making an online submission.”
