“FWC President Iain Ross has been a strong leader of the Commission while serving Labor and Coalition governments, beginning with his appointment under Prime Minister Kevin Rudd,” Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association Ai Group said today.
“While we have not agreed with every decision Justice Ross has made, he has always maintained an open door policy and has been willing to hear and respond to arguments from employer groups. We thank him for that.
“The appointment of his replacement comes at a crucial time as the Government introduces its major IR Bill. Maintaining the credibility of the FWC for employers is vital during this period of potential upheaval in our IR system and his replacement needs to retain a high level of impartiality,” Mr Willox said.
