A man has been charged with high-range drink driving following four crashes in Sydney’s south yesterday.
About 10.30pm (Saturday 7 March 2020), police were called to Henderson Street, Alexandria, after reports a Toyota Camry and Hyundai Tucson collided, before the Toyota fled the scene.
Three of the four occupants of the Hyundai were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Police will allege the Toyota was involved in a further three fail-to-stop crashes, one on Renwick Street and two on Dadley Street. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command located the heavily damaged vehicle on Belmont Lane, with the driver fleeing the scene on foot upon arrival of officers.
He was arrested following a short foot pursuit and subjected to a roadside breath test, allegedly returning a positive result.
The 24-year-old man from Wolli Creek was taken to Mascot Police Station and allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.157.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA, fail to stop and assist after impact causing injury, and three counts of not give particulars to other driver. His licence was suspended.
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 20 April 2020.
