In partnership with , Global Victoria is delivering the Global Victoria EdTech Innovation Alliance, awarding $800,000 in major research grants to nine Victorian EdTech companies and their project partners.
The Global Victoria EdTech Innovation Alliance supports partnerships between Victorian EdTech companies, education institutions, and international organisations, and enables cooperation to trial technologies that solve and enhance learning outcomes.
The program will see the activation of testbeds or pilots, by running efficacy trials of Victorian EdTech products in Australian and international education settings, in a structured formal framework, and share the findings with the broader community.
The Global Victoria EdTech Innovation Alliance is an opportunity to promote the efficacy of Victorian EdTech products for export growth, and further establish .
We are pleased to announce the nine recipients of the Global Victoria EdTech Innovation Alliance research grants, each valued up to $50,000, with additional funding to go towards research and capacity-building activities. The nine projects span the higher education, VET and schools sectors and involve international partners from nine countries including the UK, USA, Mexico, Canada, China, Singapore, New Zealand and Vanuatu.

- partnering with the University of Melbourne and Swinburne University of Technology to improve student outcomes and academic integrity through technology-enhanced assessment reform. This project’s international partner is the University of Manchester (UK).
- partnering with the University of Melbourne to assess the efficacy of a Credential Evidence Platform, increasing learners’ confidence to express their workplace skills and the ability for employers to use evidence generated as a signal to hire. This project’s international partner is the University of Dayton and Education Design Lab (USA).
- partnering with Monash University to focus on lifelong learning across the Latin America region and exploring how to create better learning experiences and outcomes for workforce reskilling and upskilling. This project’s international partner is the Universidad Anahuac (Mexico).
- partnering with Surf Coast Secondary College, Heathmont College, Pascoe Vale Girls College and Brighton Secondary College, to address two challenges in K-12 education:
- the collection of timely, actionable feedback and evidence of impact from the classroom
- how to better support teachers to use this evidence to respond to student need and adjust their classroom practice.
- This project’s international partner is with Edgbarrow School (UK) and Queen Margaret College (NZ).
- partnering with Holmes Institute and International Marketing Corporation to test the feasibility of scaling EXAMINA+, an end-to-end exam management platform supporting assessment-led learning, to international markets. This project’s international partner is with Tsinghua University (China).
- partnering with La Trobe University to explore the impact of providing experienced, qualified mentors, at scale through an EdTech platform, for international students. This project’s international partner is with Acsenda School of Management (Canada).
- partnering with Kingsley Park Primary School in a partnership that will provide teachers with the tools and support to regularly gather student feedback for a data-informed approach to improving student experience, learning outcomes and teacher practice. This project’s international partner is with Foyle College (UK).
- partnering with Parade College to explore how data based on longer time frames, such as summative, semester-based data, can be useful for daily teaching decisions and the resulting impact on the ways in which teachers plan for the personalisation of the learner experience. This project’s international partner is with Tanglin Trust School (Singapore).
- partnering with Mill Park Secondary College to pilot the deployment of the Maths Pathway Learning and Teaching model in an international context, and to test the extent to which cultural, societal and demographic differences affect its ability to deliver similar learning outcomes. This project’s international partner is with Port Vila International School (Vanuatu).
Each project includes a financial or in-kind contribution from the Victorian EdTech company and/or project partner.
