Children taking part in the Hyphen Kids program in term one of holiday activities at Hyphen – Wodonga Library Gallery showed they had the “write stuff” when they channelled their creative writing abilities into the development of entertaining stop-motion video animations.
The children, aged between six and ten, learned how to take story ideas to the next level by incorporating set design and scripting into their thinking.
They then used Lego to create videos to show their proud parents at the end of the program.
The young writers proved themselves to be great storytellers across a range of media – and they had lots of fun in the process.
Hyphen Kids returns in the next school holidays with a new round of activities under the theme of “Messy Art”. Parents, don’t be alarmed, we’ll clean up afterwards!
Messy Art will encourage children to play and learn with a variety of processes and techniques to create their own mini-masterpieces.
The young artists will learn their new skills every Tuesday from 4 pm to 5 pm over a six-week period starting on May 3, with their works to feature in a pop-up exhibition at the end of the program.
Keep an eye on Hyphen’s Facebook page for details on how to book your children’s place in the program.
