Campaspe Shire Council has released its Annual Report, a report detailing its performance for the 2018/19 financial year.
Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said the report details Council’s performance against the Council Plan, Strategic Resource Plan and Budget, being the second year of reporting against the four-year Council Plan.
“The past twelve months have been busy and we have worked hard to consolidate our financial position and deliver projects for the benefit of the community,” Cr Weston said.
“The report details $16.3 million in capital project spending, including major projects completed to improve facilities for our community and visitors, such as Lake Road rehabilitation in Kyabram, the Changing Places toilet facility in Echuca and hard tennis court and lighting in Rochester.”
In alignment with the four year Council Plan, the Annual Report breaks down Council’s performance into five key areas:
- Strong and resilient communities
- Resilient economy
- Healthy environment
- Balanced services and infrastructure
- Responsible management
“Some of the highlights have included launching Campaspe’s new branding and logo, expanding online services through our website and many community achievements such as Australia Day awards and Volunteer awards,” Cr Weston said.
The report gives a detailed overview of Council’s finances and performance, both independently audited by the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office.
“We delivered a budget within the State Government rate cap of 2.25 per cent and achieved an adjusted operating surplus of $173,000,” the Mayor added.
Each key area reports on the:
- services delivered;
- outcomes on major initiatives identified through the Budget;
- results achieved on the indicators identified through the Council Plan; and
- results of the local government prescribed indicators.
The Annual Report is available on Council’s website and a printed copy can be reviewed at customer service centres.
