22 May 2019 – Sydney – Australian company, Tenderfield Construction Software, has introduced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to help the users of its online platform automate the capture of certain data points from their construction projects’ plans.
When uploading plans to the Tenderfield system, users no longer have to manually type in plan numbers, document titles, revision numbers or document dates for each plan. Tenderfield’s Auto-label OCR Tool extracts each data point from all single-page pdf files in the user’s upload list.
Once the text has been extracted, the Auto-label OCR Tool populates and saves each plan’s data points automatically, saving users significant upload time and minimizing errors.
Tenderfield Director and Co-founder, Jason Kamha, said: “Our objective is to continue providing innovative solutions to help our clients achieve more efficiency and to reduce project risks.”

The company employs information technology to help contractors improve their
construction project management practices without incurring a large upfront capital outlay. It offers a cloud-based construction management platform comprising a package of software, storage and support for a monthly subscription fee.
Kamha said that the platform provides tools to manage the tender/bidding process, project documents and site activities. It also gives contractors access to a pre-qualified network of sub-contractors.
