  • Two, three and four-bedroom homes built to Silver Level Livable Standard

The Cook Labor Government continues to bolster the supply of new social and affordable housing, with Housing Minister John Carey today unveiling the completion of another nine new social homes in the southern suburb of Treeby.

The latest nine additions to the State’s public housing stock are new two, three and four-bedroom, double-brick homes that have been built to Silver Level Livable Standard by Summit Projects. These new social homes are currently in the process of being offered to applicants on the public housing waiting list or undergoing practical completion.

The Cook Labor Government is investing a record $3.2 billion in housing and homelessness measures which includes the delivery of around 5,000 social homes, while undertaking maintenance and refurbishments to many thousands more.

As stated by Housing Minister John Carey:

“Our Government continues to do everything we can to bolster the supply of social housing across Western Australia.

“Since the Cook Labor Government’s record $3.2 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures, we’ve added more than 2,300 social homes, with more than 1,000 social homes currently under contract or construction, throughout Western Australia.

“Another nine new social homes, including two, three and four-bedroom social homes built by Summit Projects in Treeby will now provide safe and secure housing to vulnerable Western Australian families.”

As stated by Jandakot MLA Yaz Mubarakai:

“This is a fantastic outcome for Treeby and the Jandakot electorate, and I’m proud to be a part of the Cook Labor Government as we continue to deliver for Western Australians – especially those who need it the most.

“These new social homes will be a welcome addition to the local community and will support local families in my electorate.”
