ANZ today announced that ANZ Plus has become the fastest new digital bank in Australia to reach a milestone $1 billion in deposits, with more than 55,000 customers now using the new digital banking platform.
Offering customers one of the most competitive savings rates in the market at 3.25%, there are thousands of new customers joining each week. Of those who have joined ANZ Plus to date, more than 25% are new to bank.
From this week, customers opening an ANZ Plus account will be able to use an international passport as part of the customer identification process. Customers can join and set up their account in minutes, needing only a passport or Australian driver’s license and selfie.
Peter Dalton, Managing Director, Design and Delivery ANZx at ANZ said: “We’re receiving encouraging feedback that key features of ANZ Plus, such as the multi-goal saving account, are helping people to better manage their money securely and save regularly towards their goals.
“We’re pleased that’ll we’ll soon be able to extend our offering to people in Australia with international passports giving them the opportunity to access the benefits of ANZ Plus, including our great savings rate.
To make saving easier, customers earn interest on the money in their ANZ Save account, including up to 99 goals, without conditions like having to maintain a minimum balance, or the need to put money into the account every month. The ANZ Plus Save interest rate is 3.25% on ANZ Save balances under $250,000.
