Anzac Day commemorations and activities are once again happening across the City of Adelaide – beginning tonight with the Anzac Eve Youth Vigil.
Anzac Day features commemorations, displays, exhibitions, reunions and the Anzac Day Appeal which the City of Adelaide supports through the organisation of the necessary on the day.
Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith encouraged everyone to visit the city to commemorate Anzac Day.
“Anzac Day is a significant day for our community and there’s no better place to reflect and spend the day than here in the city where we expect thousands of visitors, said the Lord Mayor.
“We of course have beautiful dawn services throughout the state, but the South Australian War Memorial Dawn Service is such a special event with a truly remarkable atmosphere that people should try to experience firsthand.
“After the service, I encourage people to have a coffee and some breakfast in the city before lining the streets to support the commemorative march.”
“I also want to extend Council’s thanks to the marshals, volunteers and participants who work so hard to make Anzac Day work so well in the city, allowing us to pay our respects and join with family and friends to experience the day.”
The following activities are associated with the 2023 City of Adelaide Anzac Day commemorations:
