Deputy Mayor Trent Sullivan
The projections are a moving tribute to those have served in our country’s defence, and those who continue to serve today. ANZAC day is a time to pause and reflect on the sacrifices of our defence force personnel and all those who have given their lives in service of our nation.
Veterans Affairs Chair, Councillor Eddy Kontelj
Dawn services and marches will be held across our region – from Eastern Beach to Lara, Portarlington, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Drysdale and Norlane. Whether it’s attending a local service, buying a badge to support the ANZAC appeal, or making ANZAC biscuits, or emailing your support to our troops – there’s something everyone can do to honour our veterans.
ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on the horrors of war and feel grateful that we live in a peaceful country, particularly given the terrible events we are seeing in some other parts of the world.
