Arson Unit detectives are appealing for information after a home in Dural was destroyed by fire in Sydney’s north-west earlier this year.
About 4pm on Sunday 30 January 2022, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire at a property on Muraban Road at Dural.
NSW Rural Fire Service crews attended and extinguished the flames, before a crime scene was established by officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command.
The premises was unoccupied at the time.
A forensic examination by specialist officers determined the fire had been deliberately lit, and the matter was referred to detectives from the Financial Crimes Squad’s Arson Unit, who commenced further inquiries under Strike Force Ashscrub.
As they continue, police have released mobile phone vision of the fire quickly spreading throughout the home and are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam vision from the area at the time to come forward.
