Campaspe Shire Council is actively working to increase the urban canopy through its annual street tree planting program.

Council is finalising its 2024 Street Tree Program which will see new trees planted in streets, parks and gardens across the municipality.

“The list of these locations will be posted to Council’s website by 10 November for residents to lodge an objection if required. The objections will be reviewed by our arborist prior to a final decision being made,” Director Infrastructure, Kate Lemon said.

“Customer applications for street trees are also open until the end of October, allowing time for orders to be placed and received. They will be scheduled for planting between May to August next year.

“Applications capture requests for a new street tree, replacement of an existing tree, or removal and replacement of a tree,” Ms Lemon added.

Applications are assessed by Council’s Arboriculture Officer taking into account a number of factors, including:

  • Neighbourhood character
  • Height of the tree species
  • Local conditions and climate

To obtain a street tree, lodge an online request through Council’s website, or call our Customer Service Centre on .
