The Territory Labor Government is offering scholarships to aspiring teachers in a bid to build and retain a strong Aboriginal educator workforce.
Applications are now open for the 2022 Northern Territory Department of Education Teaching – ‘Growing our Future Aboriginal Teacher Education Scholarships’.
Up to $15,000 per year is available for Aboriginal Territorians who are either currently studying or eligible to enrol in initial teacher education courses at Charles Darwin University in 2022.
These scholarships contribute to the Territory Labor Government’s 2016 election commitment for 500 more Aboriginal teachers, police officers or nurses by 2026, and the Education Engagement Strategy 2022-2031.
Applications close on 10 December 2021.
