ANZ today opened applications for its Community Foundation program, inviting charitable organisations around Australia to apply for grants of up to $30,000.
The ANZ Community Foundation uses regular matched donations of ANZ Staff to provide grants to small yet impactful charities. These projects support financial wellbeing, housing, environmental sustainability and other initiatives that support communities to thrive.
In 2022, $389,450 was granted to 19 community organisations. Now in its 36th year, the program has distributed more than $6.3 million to 920 community organisations across Australia.
This year, grants will be given to community organisations that help their communities in the following areas:
- Financial wellbeing, particularly for under-represented and disadvantaged people in the community, including initiatives that improve economic participation. For example, building financial literacy and vocational skills and providing access to meaningful work
- Environmental sustainability through initiatives that restore and conserve the natural environment or which contribute to water stewardship, lower carbon emissions, and waste minimisation
- Housing access through initiatives and programs that support those experiencing or at risk of homelessness or that provide support for people living with disability
- Other community projects that assist local communities to thrive
Christine Linden, Chair of the ANZ Community Foundation said: “It’s my first year as Chair, and I’m really excited to be launching our 36th year of Community Grants.”
“These grants can be a real game changer for small charities whose work in our local communities is invaluable and impacts the lives of so many people.”
Every dollar ANZ employees contribute to the Community Foundation is double matched by ANZ, tripling our collective impact.
The grant recipients are decided by a ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Advisory Board and State Committees, comprising ANZ employees each year.
