Tamworth residents who want to be part of the nation’s largest country music celebration are being encouraged to apply as a volunteer ambassador for the 2023 Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth.
Applications are now open for the ambassador roles, which gives volunteers the opportunity to help both visitors and locals with vital directions, advice and assistance throughout the 10-day event.
Team Leader – Inclusive Community, Katey Allwell says volunteering as a Festival Ambassador is a rewarding experience that allows you to meet new people, be part of an iconic event and enjoy everything the Toyota Country Music Festival has to offer.
“This is the nation’s largest country music festival and it’s all happening in our own backyard. Whether you’re new to volunteering or have lots of experience, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and have a lot of fun at the same time,” she said.
“Becoming a Festival Ambassador is also something that can be added to your resume, which is an added bonus!”
Festival Ambassadors will be required to work three-to-four-hour shifts in teams of two or three, across multiple locations during the Toyota Country Music Festival, including the Tamworth Visitor Information Centre, Peel Street, and the main Festival precinct.
Those volunteering as Festival Ambassadors will be scheduled for at least three shifts across the 10-day event, with applicants encouraged to be involved as much as possible.
“All Festival Ambassadors will receive training prior to the Festival, as well as a special Festival Ambassador t-shirt,” said Katey.
Anyone 16 years or older can apply to be a Festival Ambassador, with those aged 16 or 17 partnered with an ambassador over the age of 18. Applicants 18 years and over will also need a valid Volunteer Working with Children Check.
Anyone interested in becoming a 2023 Festival Ambassador must register with ‘RU Volunteering’ at: RU Volunteering Website. Applications close 16 November, 2022.
