The Albanese Government has reappointed Ms Diana Eilert and Dr Jill Walker as part‑time members to the Australian Competition Tribunal (the Tribunal) for a five‑year period. Ms Eilert’s reappointment will be from 12 December 2024 and Dr Walker’s reappointment will be from 30 March 2025.
Ms Diana Eilert is an experienced ASX director and executive and has been a member of the Tribunal since 2019. Beyond her diverse executive and board experience, she brings to her work operational experience as a Group Executive/CEO running large businesses, partner level skills in strategy (with a particular emphasis on customer and data) and experience in technology.
Dr Jill Walker has had a lengthy career in competition law and economics in Australia and New Zealand. She has been a member of the Tribunal since 2020 and is also a lay member of the High Court of New Zealand. Dr Walker has had a particular commitment to the promotion of international co‑operation in competition law enforcement, and especially trans‑Tasman co‑operation, for over a decade.
These appointments will continue the high level of skills and experience available to the Tribunal.
