The Ararat Fitness Centre has reopened more of its amenities, with group fitness resuming, the gym and basketball courts reopening, and an easing of restrictions in the swimming pool.
Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the centre’s changerooms and toilets, and the toddler pool are also now open to the public.
Dr Harrison said group fitness classes are limited to a maximum of 10 people, with all participants required to bring towels for floor-based classes such as pilates.
The swimming pool can accommodate up to 20 people with no lane restrictions – bookings are still required. The gym will reopen with restricted use of equipment and a maximum of 15 people at a time due to space restrictions.
“Casual users are now welcome to use the centre as long as they book a session in advance and sign in on entry. Bookings are also still required from members,” Dr Harrison said.
“The basketball courts can be hired for junior competition and non-contact adult training. And of course, social distancing and hygiene measures will still be in place across the whole centre.”
