Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today announced that Oldfield Knott Architects have been appointed to design the major construction works at Lesmurdie Primary School.
A total of $15.2 million will be invested in the project which includes a new administration building and staff room, two general classroom blocks, an early childhood education centre and covered assembly area. Refurbishments to other parts of the school will also be carried out.
Lesmurdie Primary School was established in 1920 and is located in the Darling Ranges on the outskirts of Perth. There are currently more than 350 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 6.
This project is part of the McGowan Government’s $492 million commitment to modernise Western Australian public schools over the next four years under the WA Recovery Plan.
Construction is expected to begin in November 2021 with the works creating jobs for more than 50 local workers.

“Students and staff will benefit from the extensive new facilities and refurbishments to existing buildings.
“I look forward to seeing the designs that Oldfield Knott Architects come up with.”
As stated by Kalamunda MLA Matthew Hughes:
“It’s amazing what we can achieve together. In the school’s 100th year, thanks to the school, P&C and the Board, we will start to rebuild Lesmurdie Primary School.
“The Principal has outlined the staged process that will ensure the school can remain running smoothly.”
