Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery announced today the appointment of Zuideveld Marchant Hur Architects to design a new facility at Clifton Hills Primary School.
A new covered assembly area will be the focus of the upgrade, which will include storage and office space.
The $2 million project, which is a McGowan Government election commitment, is in the schematic design stage, with construction anticipated to begin later this year.
The upgrade comes in time to make the Kelmscott school’s 50th anniversary this year.
Clifton Hills Primary School is focused on providing innovative programs and opportunities for local students to reach their best potential.
Planning is already under way, with construction anticipated to be completed towards the end of 2023.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“It’s exciting to see this new addition to Clifton Hills Primary School progressing in time to mark an important milestone for the school.
“When complete, the new covered assembly area will open up new teaching and learning opportunities for the school’s staff and students.”
As stated by Darling Range MLA Hugh Jones:
“It’s important that our community has access to top-quality public education facilities, so I welcome progress on this upgrade to Clifton Hills Primary School ahead of celebrating its 50th anniversary.
“It’s fantastic to see design work start on this election commitment that I advocated for on behalf of the school and its local students.
“I know this new facility will allow greater options for delivery of education outcomes and provide a comfortable area for students to gather, play and learn.”
