Time is running out to give yourself a chance to win up to $1000 off your next rates bill.
How do you do it? By signing up to receive your future rates notices by email through before August 19.
Outstanding Organisation Portfolio Councillor Ted Hungerford urged ratepayers to also remember to pay their rates before 5pm on Friday, August 21, to ensure they received council’s on-time payment discount of five per cent off their general rate, up to $100 every six months.
“This $1000 prize incentive is about encouraging ratepayers to make the change to online delivery methods which provide greater convenience and also help council adopt a more environmentally friendly method by using less paper when sending out rates notices,” Cr Hungerford said.
“Finding ways to be more environmentally friendly is an essential part of our healthy, smart and creative lifestyle on the Sunshine Coast.
“Those property owners who receive their rate notices by email have the added option of setting a calendar reminder to pay their rates and ensure they never miss the on-time payment discount.”
“You can sign up to on council’s website and change your rates delivery method from traditional post to email. If you do this before August 19 or if you already receive your rates notices electronically, you’ll automatically go in the running to receive up to $1000 off your next rates bill.”

There is a range of convenient online payment options available, including BPAY and by phone on 131 816. Check your rates notice to see all the ways you can pay.
Council also has a direct debit option, which can be set up to pay rates in full by the due date, to make life easier for busy ratepayers.
To assist with online or over-the-phone payments, property owners will need their payment reference number, found on their rates notice.
To pay in person, appointments are preferred so please call council to make an appointment.
Ratepayers who cannot make payment by the due date are encouraged to enter into a flexible payment arrangement by logging into or by contacting council.
