The City of Greater Bendigo is calling for expressions of interest from clubs, groups and organisations interested in holding an event as part of the 2019 Victorian Seniors Festival which takes place in Greater Bendigo from Sunday October 6 to October 13.
City of Greater Bendigo Community Wellbeing Manager Chris Kelly said the Seniors Festival offers a range of free and low-cost events and activities for older adults and the City is looking for groups who would like to showcase their organisation, provide entertainment and celebrate the contribution older adults make to our community.
“The Bendigo festival is part of the Victorian Senior Festival which commenced in 1982 and is one of the State’s more enduring festivals,” Ms Kelly said.
“Events registered by June 25, 2019 will be listed and promoted in the Greater Bendigo Festival program booklet. Groups are also encouraged to promote events through their own networks.
“This year the festival theme is “Get into it” and we would love to include as many activities as possible in the program.
“Events and activities could include the promotion of positive and active ageing, hosting open days, entertainment, exhibitions, learning new skills, wellbeing, or exercise activities.
“If you think your organisation can host a great event for the older adults then we want to hear from you.”
