Armed robbery and deprivation of liberty in Mango Hill, QLD

Police are investigating after two armed men confronted a woman and forced her into a vehicle before robbing her in Mango Hill yesterday afternoon (May 2).

The 65-year-old local woman was walking along Halpine Drive at around 3pm when a white Ford sedan, possibly an older style Falcon, pulled up alongside her.

A male passenger exited the vehicle and began to speak with the woman. As she turned to walk away towards Mango Hill railway station, the driver of the sedan hopped out of the car and stood in front of her holding a firearm, while the passenger produced a knife.

The pair then forced the woman into the back seat of the vehicle and demanded money before stealing a sum of cash from her.

The men drove around with the victim in their car for a short period of time before pulling up and dropping her off near a school in Kallangur.

The woman was not seriously injured as a result of the incident.

The male passenger is described as having a dark complexion with a thin build, curly black hair, aged around 27 to 30-years-old and spoke with an accent. He was wearing black shorts, a red-t-shirt, and white running shoes.

The driver of the sedan is described Caucasian in appearance with long shoulder length blonde hair, around 175-180cm tall and aged in his mid 20’s. He was wearing a short sleeved light blue dress shirt and brown shorts.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the men or their vehicle to contact them and are advising members of the public not to approach them.
