Armed robbery and property offence charges at Rockhampton, QLD

Police have charged a 29-year-old Allenstown man in relation to two alleged armed robberies and other property offences in the Rockhampton area today, June 15.

It will be alleged around 5.40am the man entered a fast-food business along McLaughlin Street in Gracemere armed with a long-bladed weapon and made demands for money.

A sum of money was handed over by the store employee before the man alleged fled the business in a 4WD.

At approximately 1.30pm, the man allegedly drove his 4WD to a service station along Lower Dawson Road, Allenstown, where he attended the business armed with a knife and threatened staff.

Police attended the service station where the man threatened an officer with a knife before getting back into the 4WD and leaving the scene.

The 4WD travelled towards Gracemere on the Capricorn Highway before driving through a fence and into a paddock, where it came to a stop.

Police attended and took the man into custody without further incident.
