The highly anticipated and much-loved event, Raising the Bar Adelaide, will be held across the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters on Tuesday 9 August.
For one night only, 10 of our City’s best bars, cellar doors and pubs will be turned into a ‘campus’ where top academics, industry experts and thought leaders gather to share their ideas, vision and wisdom.
“The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is once again serving up this unique event of cutting-edge content, which continues to grow in popularity each year,” Mayor Robert Bria said.
This year’s speakers will be talking about a vast range of topics including the reality of crime, nutrition, fashion, law and religion, durability and resilience, the space industry, STEM careers and much more!
The Advertiser’s Chief Court Reporter Sean Fewster and Change Management Consultant, Daniel Panozzo are the co-creators and co-hosts of the Just Lawful Podcast. During their talk – at The Alma – they will be focussing on the importance of ensuring the stories of crime are heard and understood.
Also at the Alma, Derrick McManus – who was shot 14 times while working as a STAR Group officer– will be discussing functional resilience as a result of the event which changed the course of his life.
“Raising the Bar is a much-loved event in our City’s calendar. This year’s speakers cover a range of curious and fascinating topics that are sure to pique everyone’s interests,” Mayor Bria said.
“On a lighter note, Simon Robert Dawson will be talking about body language and how to read it, and Dr Lurve will be shining a light on improving and maximising relationships.
“Elizabeth Williamson will be offering insights into how to deal with difficult and demanding people and Luke Morton will offer some intelligent tips on how you can become smarter.
“One of the challenging parts of Raising the Bar Adelaide 2022 will be deciding who to see and in what pub. The calibre of speakers is exceptional.
“All you have to do is sit back, be challenged and inspired, while enjoying a drink, a fun night out with friends and delicious food.”
Raising the Bar is a global event series which began in New York and aims to make education a part of popular culture in cities across the world, with Adelaide now among Hong Kong, London and Sydney.
