Northern Territory Police have arrested a 24-year-old male in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in the Rockhole Community on Saturday evening.
Around 5:20pm, police received reports of an altercation between two males who are known to each other at Rockhole Community. One of the males allegedly assaulted the other with a blunt weapon causing the victim to fall to the ground. The alleged offender then continued to strike the victim with a blunt weapon before feeling the scene in a vehicle.
St John Ambulance attended and conveyed the 33-year-old victim to Katherine Hospital.
He has since been transported to Royal Darwin Hospital via Careflight.
Police located arrested a 24-year-old male who has been charged with multiple offences including, Going armed in public, Aggravated assault and Recklessly endangering serious harm.
Investigations remain ongoing.
He is due to appear in Katherine Local Court today.
