Strike Force Trident have arrested multiple offenders after several vehicles were stolen and a robbery committed in Adelaide River overnight.
Around 11:20am yesterday, police received reports that a large group were involved in a robbery at a service station in Adelaide River during which staff were threatened with rocks and metal poles and a quantity of items stolen. The offenders then fled the service station and entered a previously stolen vehicle which was parked a short distance away and fled from the area.
Local police with the assistance of the Dog Operations Unit and Strike Force Trident deployed to the area and a crime scene was established. Police received information the stolen vehicle was later located and seized and a 17 year old male was arrested for his involvement in the offending. This male has since been charged and remanded in custody until 18 of August 2023.
Around 8:20am today, a stolen vehicle from Adelaide River was driving towards Darwin with multiple persons seated in the tray of the vehicle. Detectives from Strike Force Trident with assistance from the Dog Operations Unit and General Duties deployed and located the stolen vehicle driving around Jingili. The vehicle was abandoned in the Water Gardens and following an operation 6 males and 1 female, aged between 14 and 18 were arrested for their involvements in both stolen motor vehicles and the robbery in Adelaide River.
All 7 offenders currently remain in custody and are expected to be charged later this evening.
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the vehicle driving between the hours of 7:00 AM until 8:30 AM, with multiple people in the tray, to make contact on 131 444, particularly if they have dash cam footage.
