Northern Territory Police have arrested four male youths in relation to a stolen motor vehicle and dangerous driving incident that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.
Around 3.30pm, police received a report that a white Toyota Fortuna had been stolen from Emily Gap on the Ross Highway.
The stolen vehicle was later sighted driving erratically in Alice Springs with multiple occupants inside. Around 10pm, the offenders allegedly threw rocks at a police vehicle on Railway Terrace, causing minor damage.
The stolen motor vehicle was subsequently located by police in Sadadeen by general duties units and members from the Dog Operation Unit. The occupants allegedly engaged with police members on multiple occasions driving in close proximity to, and throwing rocks at, police vehicles resulting in four vehicles sustaining minor damage.
No police member was injured during the incident.
Police engaged in a short pursuit, resulting in the offenders abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee. Three males, aged 12, 13, and 14 were apprehended by police while a 16-year-old male was apprehended by Patrol Dog Fitzy.
The stolen vehicle was recovered.
