Northern Territory Police have arrest three male youths in connection with a stolen motor vehicle incident in Tennant Creek yesterday afternoon.
During the afternoon, the alleged offenders reportedly absconded with a set of keys to a Toyota Hiace bus. Members of the community promptly alerted the police when the bus was observed being driven recklessly through the town.
The bus eventually became bogged, before the offenders fled the scene on foot. A short time later, two 13-year-old males and a 16-year-old male without incident.
The 16-year-old was issued a summons for driving, using riding motor vehicle without consent and a 13-year-old was conveyed home to a responsible adult.
The second 13-year-old has been charged with:
- Driving, using riding motor vehicle without consent
- 2 x theft
- Criminal damage
He currently remains in custody.
