Arrests – Stolen motor vehicles – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after 3 vehicles were stolen and driven dangerously around Alice Springs.

On Saturday night, a Ford Wildtrack was stolen from a residence in Larapinta and was seen driving around the CBD overnight.

Just after 4am this morning, a Ford Everest was stolen from a residence in Kilgariff, while a Ford Ranger was stolen from another residence in Stuart.

All three vehicles were sighted driving in convoy and attempting to target police vehicles, with items were being thrown at police.

Tyre Deflation Devices were put in place, successfully spiking the Ford Wildtrack, with the offenders from the vehicle outstanding.

Police are calling for information on the 2 outstanding stolen motor vehicles.

Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Kent said, “Since the offending on Monday night Strike Force Viper have arrested four males aged 14, 15, 16 and 19-year-old who are believed to be involved in a series of burglary, theft and dangerous driving offences.

“Multiple further offenders have been identified and investigations remain ongoing.

“Once again, police have also been targeted by dangerous actions during these offences.

“The last few nights we have seen numerous reckless driving from stolen motor vehicles.

“Detectives are continuing to investigate this matter, with forensics being conducted on the recovered vehicle to identify the offenders involved.”
